PLOT SUMMARY

After Guy Haines and Charles Anthony Bruno meet on a train, they turn from strangers, into murder partners. After Guy talks about how he must divorce his wife Miriam, and while Bruno talks about his hatred, Bruno develops the plan of killing Miriam for Bruno. After Miriam is murdered, Bruno follows and sends letters to Guy in order to convince him to kill Bruno’s father. After the psychological torture, Guy ends up killing Bruno’s father, and they become murder partners. But Bruno keeps on appearing in Guy’s life because he thinks of Guy as a friend. Bruno ends up dying after falling off of a yacht, and then Guy is arrested while confessing to the man Miriam had an affair with.
